Tecámac faces the effects of the rainy season in a better way / @MejorTecamac >>>
#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- The Government of Tecámac has carried out important works to improve and rehabilitate the drainage network of the municipality, which have allowed to better face the effects of the rainy season and prevent flooding in several neighborhoods and communities.
Last year alone, work was carried out in San Pedro Atzompa, San Lucas Xolox, Carretas Ojo de Agua and Lomas de Tecámac, where heavy rainfall caused severe puddles or even flooding in homes.
In 2024, the Decentralized Public Organization for the Provision of Drinking Water, Sewage and Sanitation Services (ODAPAS) concluded one of the most important works of recent years in the municipality, which was the Ojo de Agua Boulevard.
In this important roadway, a little more than four kilometers of the drainage network were completely renovated, including the installation of a new combined rainwater and wastewater collector, since the previous one -which was almost 50 years old- had collapsed and had caused several sinkholes in the area.
Currently, the construction of the Centlalpan Collector is underway, a work that will connect the North Canal Collector with the San Francisco Ravine, on the Mexico-Pachuca highway, to which a budget of approximately nine million pesos was allocated, in order to mitigate the flooding of the Santa María Ozumbilla Center and the overflow of the Golondrinas Canal in San Pedro Atzompa.
The work under construction consists of the introduction of 440 linear meters of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, 1.52 meters in diameter, and the rehabilitation of the storm drains of the avenues of Panteón, San Pablo, 13 de Septiembre and Constitución de la República.
As part of the preventive actions before and during the rainy season, the municipality carries out drainage and maintenance works in the seven pumping stations, cleaning of ravines and maintenance of infiltration ponds and absorption wells.
