Municipal urban and metropolitan development council installed in Atizapán de Zaragoza / @Pedro_RVillegas @GobAtizapan >>>

#Atizapán, #Edoméx.- The Municipal President of Atizapán de Zaragoza, Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, led the installation of the Municipal Council for Urban and Metropolitan Development of the Municipality, which was sworn in during the One Hundred Thirteenth Ordinary Session of the City Council and aims to promote orderly urban growth in the town.

Luis Gilberto Marrón Agustín, General Director of Projects and Metropolitan Coordination of the Secretary of Urban Development and Infrastructure of the Government of the State of Mexico, was present at the swearing-in ceremony, and Mayor Rodríguez Villegas thanked him for his interest in the good development of the municipality.

“I hope this is the beginning of many actions that we can take together with the Government of the State of Mexico to modernize and transform our beloved Atizapán de Zaragoza,” mentioned Rodríguez Villegas.

According to the General Directorate of Projects and Metropolitan Coordination of the Secretariat of Urban Development and Infrastructure of the Government of the State of Mexico, the Municipal Council of Urban and Metropolitan Development is a technical body of inter-institutional coordination whose purpose is to coordinate and liaise to generate a metropolitan agenda so that projects have viability and sustainability.

It will also seek to validate projects and contribute to the implementation of urban and metropolitan policies that benefit citizens.

This Council also seeks to generate agreements and metropolitan understanding to strengthen the Municipality’s capacities in the implementation of urban development and the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of Atizapán de Zaragoza, which together with 58 other municipalities form the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico.

It was formed by Mayor Pedro Rodríguez Villegas, as president; José Ramón Jarquín Rodríguez, General Director of Land Management and Urban Development, Executive Secretary; and Edgar David Vázquez Molina, Director of Public Works; Fabián Ricardo Gómez Calcáneo, Commissioner of Atizapán de Zaragoza; Commander Héctor Elorriaga Mejía, Municipal Coordinator of Civil Protection, Firefighters and Environment, as members with voice and vote; Patricia Alonso Vargas, Director of Economic Development; Ricardo Chávez Cerón, Head of the Mobility Department; Julio César Martínez Hernández, Director of Social Development; Moisés Gerardo Bermúdez Juárez, Director of Public Services, and Jaime Alejandro Vences Mejía, head of the Water, Sewage and Sanitation Services of Atizapán de Zaragoza (SAPASA).
