#ISSSTE.- To recognize medical and administrative personnel, as well as altruistic individuals who carry out actions in favor of breast cancer patients, the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste) presented the Reconocimiento Rosa 2024 edition, which celebrates the effort, dedication and commitment in the fight against this disease, the leading cause of oncological death in women.

This activity is part of the strategy to expand preventive actions among the entire population, to consolidate the second floor of the Fourth Transformation in the health sector, promoted by the institute’s CEO, Martí Batres Guadarrama.

On the occasion of World Breast Cancer Day, which was commemorated on October 19, on behalf of the Issste medical director, Gustavo Reyes Terán, the deputy director of Prevention and Health Protection at the institute, Víctor Hugo Bautista Hernández, recognized the professionals who promote different options among the population to diagnose this disease in time.

“If we focus on screening women, educating our population to change the culture to a preventive one, where from childhood we have this ideology in our daily lives, we will be able to detect many anomalies or alterations in the mammary glands, and thus save many lives.”

During the presentation of the eight awards and the honorable mention to the surgeons of the organism, who were in charge of leading the First National Breast Reconstruction Campaign that benefited 292 women, he distinguished these professionals for giving back smiles and self-esteem to the beneficiaries.
