Monterrey offers Catrinas Festival in Plaza Zaragoza / @mtygob >>>
#Monterrey, #N.L.- A spectacular night, full of color, fashion and skulls, was experienced today by the citizens of Monterrey during the presentation of the Catrinas Festival, within the first edition of “Las Almas Regias 2024”.
Nearly 54 representatives of the municipalities of Nuevo Leon exhibited various costumes, characterized as Catrinas.
Rubén Dávila, Director of Miss Nuevo León, thanked the organization of the event:
“I want to take this space and this minute to thank the people who made this great Catrinas Festival possible, the Mayor Adrián de la Garza, thank you for allowing this event”.
The General Director of Tourism is Culture, Silvia Nancy García Treviño explained that the festival of Las Almas Regias was born with the objective of making a tribute full of color, tradition and respect towards our cultural identity.
Present at the event were Gabriela Oyervides, President of DIF Monterrey; Ximena Tamariz García, Secretary of Economic Development; and Erika López, from the Santa Lucía International Festival, among others.
To begin, the singer Fátima Villarreal interpreted the song “La Llorona” in the Náhuatl language, leaving the audience in awe.
Afterwards, each of the representatives of the cities walked down the catwalk to show off their elegant and striking outfits from the Kokkoro boutique.
