More than 4 thousand kms of highways, artisanal roads and Bachetón in 32 states, SICT’s goal: Fuentes Orrala / @SICT_mx >>>

#SICT.- This government has a goal of building 12 highway axes with 4,000 kilometers of federal highways, including toll-free and concessioned highways, the Artisan Roads Program will continue throughout the country and a new impulse will be given to conservation with the Bachetón program in the 32 states, said Juan Carlos Fuentes Orrala, Undersecretary of Infrastructure of the SICT.

Attending on behalf of the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation, Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, the federal official signed as a witness of honor the Letter of Intent to establish the Infrastructure Policy Council, which brings together the country’s engineering organizations: the Academy of Engineering, CICM, AMIVTAC, CIME, CMIC, CNEC, FEMCIC, IMEF and UMAI.

The Undersecretary of Infrastructure said that, in order to meet road infrastructure goals, today more than ever, close collaboration is needed between the government, schools, associations, federations, the private sector and civil society.

During the Second National Forum on CICM 2024 Planning, organized by the College of Civil Engineers of Mexico (CICM), he pointed out that the development of infrastructure planning is not only a set of works, but a powerful tool to close inequality gaps, boost the economy and guarantee resilience in the face of future challenges.

In reference to the signing of the Letter of Intent, he said that this is a very good time to integrate this Committee, “they have the full support of the SICT to generate these planning policies for the country’s infrastructure”.

He detailed that this integral approach will allow to advance towards a multimodal transportation system that articulates highways, railways, air terminals, among others, in a single national development fabric.
