#IMSS.- By the end of 2024, the Safe and Healthy Workplace Environments (ELSSA) program of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) has brought together 637 companies in the Decentralized Administrative Operation Body (OOAD) of North Mexico City to benefit more than 243,000 workers.
Plaza Comercial Oriente S.A. de C.V. and Holcim México Operaciones S.A. de C.V., which recently joined ELSSA, will benefit 4,300 workers with actions to strengthen their health, safety and well-being.
Dr. Patricia Soto Márquez, head of IMSS in the representation, highlighted from the Rafael Solana Cultural Center the importance of this initiative for the promotion of health and wellness; she indicated that ELSSA focuses on preventing occupational risks and addressing health problems such as chronic diseases, ergonomic risks and psychosocial factors that affect the working population.
“These actions are fundamental as they consolidate the commitment to invest in the physical and mental health of the workforce through a joint effort, with which we not only strengthen companies, but also society in general, since a healthy and resilient population contributes to a more robust economy and more dynamic and productive organizations,” he said.
Meanwhile, engineer Óscar Araya Sánchez, Director of Health and Safety at Holcim, the world’s leading Swiss building materials company, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration. “The value of a company is its people and there is no better gift for a collaborator than to guarantee their health, safety and a safe return home unharmed, so we are grateful for the support, time, dedication and space they gave us to implement this program.
