#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) concluded work on the Chalco-Santa Marta Trolleybus elevated viaduct that will connect the east and west of Mexico City.
As part of the works under its responsibility, the SICT is making progress in the installation of catenary, in addition to the finishes and equipment at the terminal.
In a vision of metropolitan mobility, the SICT is working together with the Government of the State of Mexico on the extension of the elevated trolleybus in Mexico City, from Acahualtepec to Santa Marta.
The project includes the construction of a 590-meter elevated viaduct, a 126-meter curved viaduct and a terminal station at the Santa Marta Modal Transfer Center, which is being carried out in collaboration with the government of the State of Mexico.
The Chalco-Santa Marta Trolleybus connection, built by the Government of the State of Mexico, will have a route of 18 kilometers, 13 stations and 2 terminals.
This will reduce travel time from 2 hours to only 33 minutes and will benefit 200 thousand users from municipalities such as Los Reyes, Valle de Chalco, Ixtapaluca and Chalco.
