#QuintanaRoo.- Accompanied by children, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and the municipal president of Benito Juarez, Ana Paty Peralta de la Peña, laid the first stone of Xiimbal Park, in supermanzana 249, which will serve more than 10,600 inhabitants of this area of Cancun.

“The park will facilitate the construction of social peace, and it will be the commitment of all of us to preserve this healthy environment in which our children can play outdoors with joy and safety; where fathers and mothers can talk and meet with friends, and where the elderly can be active, guaranteeing them a dignified old age,” said the President.

In the presence of Alberto Barrida Cazares, director of RUBA, Plaza Quintana Roo, and Ismael López Cuevas, construction manager, Mara Lezama said that “this joint effort perfectly portrays the spirit of the New Agreement for the Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo, to work hand in hand with the people, to commit ourselves to the welfare of those who need it most, to move forward together so that no one is left behind”.

This park will be built on land that RUBA donated in 2018. It will have green areas, a playground, a lonaria, a multipurpose court and a jogging track. Authorities and representatives of RUBA made a public commitment to inaugurate the park on April 30, on Children’s Day.

President Ana Paty Peralta emphasized that this new park will undoubtedly look beautiful, it will be a space to build community, to strengthen responsibility and to keep it clean so that it will last for many years, to improve the urban image of its surroundings and to improve the quality of life of the residents.

Before the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Mara Lezama talked with the children and gave them heart-shaped cookies for Valentine’s Day.
