#Tlalnepantla, #Edoméx.- The government of former Mayor Marco Antonio Rodríguez Hurtado inherited a debt of more than 2,578 million 475 thousand pesos, which includes the red numbers that exist in the City Hall and the OPDM. In view of this embezzlement of the municipal coffers, Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz stated that there will be zero impunity and that those responsible will face justice.

In a press conference, Raciel Perez Cruz indicated that despite the financial gap with which he received the municipal treasury, he will respond to citizen demands such as resurfacing, pothole repair, lighting, public safety, as well as the water issue which is one of the main priorities and announced that in 2025 there will be a historic investment in public works in Tlalnepantla of 1,117 million pesos.

The mayor detailed that the short-term debt is approximately 383.4 million pesos, which is 16 times more than the debt of his first term as mayor in the 2019 – 2021 administration when the amount was 23.2 million pesos.

As for the figure recorded with the Water Commission of the State of Mexico (CAEM), he commented that the debt as of December 31, 2024 was 366 million 81 thousand 323 pesos, while the debt with the National Water Commission (CONAGUA) is 1 billion 828 million 962 thousand 282 pesos, the sum of both figures is higher than the 2 billion 195 million in debts.

Perez Cruz recalled that during his 2019 – 2021 administration, 650 million pesos were paid annually to CONAGUA from the Fund of Contributions for the Strengthening of the Municipalities and Territorial Districts of the Federal District (FORTAMUN).

“That fund was not touched by the municipal government, but the next government prevented this payment through legal maneuvers, with the resources they had available they were able to fully modernize the city’s water system, however, they only left four wells of which only one is working,” he expressed.
