#EstadoDeMéxico.- For Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, space aeronautics is an industry that belongs to a priority sector to detonate, along with electromobility, technologies, semiconductors, the electrical and electronics sector, as well as renewable energies within the Mexico Plan, as part of the AIFA Center Corridor, highlighted Laura González Hernández, Secretary of Economic Development.
At the inauguration of the International Aviation Exhibition and Convention “Aero Expo 2025”, she pointed out that “the State of Mexico ranked first nationally in the creation of formal employment with 100 thousand 602 new formal jobs, which represents 32 percent of the total generated nationally.”
Therefore, events such as the nineteenth edition “Aero Expo 2025” reaffirm the strategic position of the State of Mexico, as a generator of economic development, “we are confident that these days will be very useful for strengthening the sector, fostering a dynamic and enriching business environment for executive and private aviation in the region,” said Secretary Laura Gonzalez.
From the Toluca International Airport “Adolfo López Mateos” (AIT), venue of the “Aero Expo 2025”, she pointed out that throughout its trajectory this air terminal has consolidated as the main terminal for executive flights in the country.
In 2024, the AIT registered more than 79,500 operations and transported 1.7 million passengers; it also ranks sixth nationally in cargo aviation, handling 39,000 tons per year.
AIT has consolidated its position as the most important logistics hub in Mexico, as it is part of the Metropolitan Airport System (SMA), together with Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) and Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
In addition, its proximity to Mexico City and the State of Hidalgo has been a determining factor in attracting investment, and these three entities make up the largest consumer market in Mexico, with 30.3 million inhabitants.
