#Naucalpan, #Edoméx.- The municipal president, Isaac Montoya Márquez, shared substantial and structural advances during the first quarter of his administration, highlighting achievements in the areas of security, civil protection, environment and urban development. Accompanied by the heads of the different areas, he listened and presented the actions undertaken in these areas.
SECURITY
At a press conference, Montoya presented a comparison between the first quarter of the Government of Transformation and the last quarter of the previous administration, based on data cross-checked with the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Naucalpan. A 19% reduction in high impact crimes was reported: vehicle theft decreased by 9%; robbery to commerce, by 108%; robbery to pedestrians, by 72%; and robbery to homes, by 111%.
He emphasized that the support of the City Council is expected for the creation of the Municipal Guard, which will not only be a change of name, but of operation and structure, as part of the plan Seguridad con Todo (Security with Everything). He stressed that a clear line of command was needed, aimed at eradicating practices such as extortion or abuse of authority. He cited the case of the civic judge, where previously quotas were imposed on the elements to present detainees; with the elimination of this practice, fines were reduced by 60%.
The Municipal Guard will have more than 200 additional elements, as well as 250 patrol cars, motorcycles and vans to reinforce security. The municipality will be rezoned, reducing the current 31 regions to 25, which will allow police presence in approximately 200 strategic points 24 hours a day. In addition, the installation of at least 500 video surveillance cameras is contemplated.

He also announced a call, in the next few days, to recruit 200 new elements to join the Municipal Guard. The goal is to have a proximity and preventive police force that will address the causes of violence and deter the commission of crimes. He added that there have not been any complaints of abuse of authority against municipal elements so far in the administration.
CIVIL PROTECTION
On the subject of flood risk in the Río Hondo area, it was reported that a special plan is already being worked on and a close dialogue is being maintained with neighbors affected in previous years.
The mayor announced that the rivers and sewers are being dredged, actions that had not been carried out in the last three years. With CONAGUA’s confirmation, the Los Cuartos, Totolinga and Río Verde dams will be intervened, and constant monitoring is being maintained at La Radio dam, in coordination with CAEM.
