#BajaCalifornia.- Baja California is ready to welcome local and national travelers who will enjoy the Holy Week holiday between April 14 and 25. Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda invited visitors and locals to join authorities and take the necessary precautions for a safe and stress-free vacation.
The governor noted that the Holy Week Vacation Operation, which began last Thursday, April 3, will deploy 942 personnel and 244 vehicles throughout the state. There will also be monitoring tours in the main tourist areas and six offices, five mobile modules, and one information center will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
She also highlighted the availability of the 078 line for free roadside and tourist assistance provided by Ángeles Verdes, as well as the number (664) 624 20 20, which provides support, complaint follow-up, and advice from the Baja California Tourism Secretariat.
The governor emphasized the importance of inspecting your vehicle before traveling, ensuring the brakes, lights, and tires are in working order. During the trip, it is essential to wear your seatbelt, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, and rest on long trips.
She recommended staying hydrated and protecting yourself from the sun, especially when traveling to hot destinations. She also advised using sunscreen and appropriate clothing to avoid burns, and bringing insect repellent if engaging in outdoor activities.
Regarding water activities, the governor emphasized the importance of not swimming alone, supervising children, and checking water conditions before entering. She also recommended keeping personal belongings under close surveillance, especially in areas with large concentrations of people.
Finally, the governor urged people to take precautions when leaving their homes during vacation, ensuring everything is securely locked and avoiding sharing real-time location details on social media to prevent theft.
