#SICT.- National tourism and the region’s economy are proving the benefits of the new Jala-Puerto Vallarta highway, built by the Mexican government, which saves two and a half hours on the journey between the cities of Guadalajara and Bahía de Banderas.

Developed by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), headed by Jesús Esteva Medina, the project created approximately 2,000 jobs and involved an investment of 2.024 billion pesos.

This new 173-km roadway also includes 21 structures: eight bridges; 13 vehicle crossings; an interchange and a toll booth, as well as a five-kilometer branch to Puerto Vallarta International Airport.

With the completion of the third and final section, the 33.2-kilometer Bucerías-Puerto Vallarta highway, inaugurated last December by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the highway has begun to demonstrate its benefits for users.

The work to complete this highway project took two years and involved nearly 2,000 people.

The effort involved the construction of 21 structures, including eight bridges measuring 6 and 15 meters in height and up to 300 meters in length; 13 vehicle crossings measuring between 5 and 6 meters in height and up to 40 meters in length; an interchange and a toll booth, as well as a 5-kilometer branch line to the Puerto Vallarta International Airport.
