Mexico strengthens its states through international cooperation / @SRE_mx >>>
#SRE.- Local governments in Mexico play an important role in international cooperation for the development of our country, stated Alejandra del Moral Vela, executive director of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), in Tlaxcala.
During a meeting with the state governor, Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, and Chiaki Kobayashi, head of mission of the Japan Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Mexico, where cooperation opportunities for the agency were explored, del Moral stated that it is very important for the Agency to establish dynamic and ongoing communication with the states, following the instructions of Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente.
The executive director highlighted the combined efforts to respond to the national challenges facing us. She also recognized JICA’s solidarity, responsibility, and sensitivity, as well as its commitment to continue strengthening the ties between the two agencies.
Del Moral Vela stated that they have received instructions from President Claudia Sheinbaum to be a more accessible agency that responds to the needs of our strategic partners, such as Japan in this case, but also to the needs of Mexico.
For her part, the executive director of AMEXCID stated that they are sharing their technical capabilities with Japan to address issues such as policies for healthy aging; care systems for the elderly, children, and adolescents; comprehensive risk management; water management; and issues related to the automotive industry.
This meeting, Del Moral Vela considered, represents a window of opportunity to discuss and explore possibilities for collaboration with Japan’s support in various areas that will help, as much as possible, address the needs of the state.
State Governor Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros emphasized that this meeting is a clear demonstration that global challenges can be faced through solidarity and cooperation among peoples.
“In Tlaxcala, we have made a commitment to transform the lives of our people, and through our government, we embrace the sense of closeness and social responsibility. Our model of care for older adults, which you will be able to learn about today, is a reflection of that commitment,” he said.
