#EstadoDeMéxico.- In an atmosphere of fun, laughter, and applause, more than 4,800 children from all municipalities of the State of Mexico enjoyed free performances of the play «Peter Pan,» organized by Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
«It is an honor for me to address the children and wish them a fun Children’s Day, not only today but every day. And may it allow us adults to reflect on the importance of our commitment to guiding these generations not only toward becoming good professionals, but above all, toward becoming good human beings,» said Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
The performances were held at the Morelos Theater in the state capital, through the System for the Integral Development of the Family of the State of Mexico (DIFEM) and the municipal DIFs.
The state governor explained that, as a gift, the children of the State of Mexico and their companions enjoyed this performance, which tells the story of Peter Pan, a boy who doesn’t want to grow up and, along with the fairy Tinker Bell, visits Wendy and her siblings’ home to take them to Neverland—an adventure filled with values such as love, friendship, strength, and unity.
She thanked mothers, fathers, DIFEM staff, and municipalities for making this event possible, fulfilling the dreams of thousands of girls and boys.
Karina Labastida Sotelo, Director General of DIFEM, affirmed that the children of the State of Mexico are a priority for the current administration, which is why these activities seek to help them grow strong and healthy. She encouraged children to maintain the joy and happiness that characterize them.
Guests received educational toys, dolls, and action figures as part of the celebration and recognition of childhood, the driving force behind the State of Mexico government’s work toward a better future for all.
