#SECTUR.- Mexican Tourism Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora inaugurated the «Dialogue of Captains of Industry» at the 2025 Tourism Fair, a space for discussion where industry leaders held a panel on the 2026 FIFA World Cup and another panel on the importance of promoting community tourism.
As part of the new format of the largest tourism event in the Americas, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) stated that, unlike previous editions, this year a space for inclusive dialogue was opened, in which members of the industry, the private sector, and representatives of the three levels of government strengthen ties of cooperation to continue making this activity a sector of good news.
He stated that, with this, the 49th edition of the Tourism Tianguis (Tianguis Turístico) has become a meeting where everyone involved in the value chain is heard and where the entire population is involved.
Welcoming the panel «A World Cup for All,» Rodríguez Zamora noted that this high-impact international sporting event will have billions of viewers in more than 190 countries, with the participation of 48 national teams, and for the first time in the history of the World Cup, a country will host this sporting event three times.
He emphasized that the objective of this panel is to reveal the work each state is doing to diversify tourism during the World Cup, as well as to showcase their natural, cultural, and gastronomic riches.
Noting that it is estimated that more than 5 million tourists will arrive in Mexico in just one month, he affirmed that Mexico City, Nuevo León, and Jalisco have the necessary infrastructure, capacity, and geographic location.
