The State of Mexico, Morelos, Hidalgo, and Mexico City join forces to improve urban development in the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico
#EstadoDeMéxico.- With the aim of promoting intergovernmental collaboration to improve the quality of life for residents of the Valley of Mexico Metropolitan Area (ZMVM), the Government of the State of Mexico, together with the states of Morelos, Hidalgo, and Mexico City, signed coordination agreements with the Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (Sedatu) for the implementation of the 2025 Urban Improvement Program.
This action combines efforts and resources to continue the Valley of Mexico Planning Program, a fundamental tool for planning and managing the development of this key region of the country.
During the First Regular Session of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Valley of Mexico Metropolitan Development Council, Carlos Maza Lara, Secretary of Urban Development and Infrastructure, highlighted the vision of Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez, who has prioritized intergovernmental coordination and planning as pillars for building socially responsible development in cities.
In the presence of Víctor Hugo Hofmann Aguirre, Undersecretary of Sedatu, the state secretary emphasized the importance of joint work between the states and the federal government to achieve efficient land management, based on criteria of environmental sustainability, territorial equity, resilience to urban challenges, and, above all, a profound social sense that places the needs and well-being of citizens at the center.
The Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico is considered one of the largest and most important areas in the country, requiring a comprehensive vision and coordinated action to address urban challenges and ensure the well-being of its inhabitants. The signing of these agreements represents a fundamental step in the consolidation of public policies that benefit millions of people.
