SICT begins construction of highway projects totaling 942 km in six states / @SICT_mx >>>
#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), led by Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, began the construction and modernization of eight highway projects in six states, four of which are priority highways, one interchange, and three bridges.
The priority highways will connect with the country’s main trunk road network of nearly 19,000 kilometers (km), of which 2,200 km will be built during the current administration.
The eight projects are part of the National Highway Infrastructure Program that the Government of Mexico will develop during this administration, which will cover more than 942 km and involve an investment of more than 48.565 billion pesos.
These projects are the 385-km Cuautla-Tlapa highway, between Morelos and Guerrero, with an investment of 13.652 billion pesos (mx).
In Hidalgo, the 95-km Tamazunchale-Huejutla Highway begins construction, with an investment of 6.674 billion pesos.
In Morelos, the Tierra y Libertad Circuit is already underway, with an investment of 124 million pesos for 7 km; the Jojutla Bridge has already been demolished and will be modernized with the construction of a new vehicular crossing.
Also, this week, the Huatulco-Pochutla section begins construction, part of the Salina Cruz-Zihuatanejo Highway between Oaxaca and Guerrero. This stretch covers 453 km and will require an investment of 27.665 billion pesos.
Another project that has begun after a public tender is the Fonatur roundabout interchange in Baja California Sur, which is two kilometers long and will require an investment of 450 million pesos.
