#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted that thanks to the ongoing, daily, and coordinated work of the Mexican Government’s Security Cabinet, in conjunction with the states, from October 1, 2024, to May 18, 2025, 10,962 firearms and 157 tons of drugs have been seized, 915 laboratories have been destroyed, and 21,411 people have been arrested for high-impact crimes.

«These results would not be possible without ongoing, daily, coordinated work and the great team we have, who are professional, hardworking, and whose vision is to serve the people,» the President of Mexico emphasized during her morning press conference, «Las mañaneras del pueblo» (The People’s Morning Press Conference).

She emphasized that, in addition to these actions, daily work is being done to address the causes that generate violence.

“What defines us? Honesty, integrity, and responsibility. And responsibility has to do, first, with not betraying the principles of where we come from, our causes, and responsibility has to do with working every day, 24 hours a day, to serve the people of Mexico and to build security and peace, which, moreover, must come from justice, social justice, justice in all its forms. And from a justice system that truly responds to the people and to justice,” he added.

The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, emphasized that the close coordination among all the institutions that comprise the Security Cabinet, together with the federal entities, the Attorney General’s Offices, and the National Intelligence Center (CNI), is a factor that allows for these types of arrests, seizures, and dismantling of 915 laboratories and concentration areas, which represents an unprecedented number.
