Highway projects by 2025 will generate more than 150,000 jobs: SICT / @SICT_mx >>>
#SICT.- The Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT), Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, announced that 53 billion pesos (mdp) will be spent on road infrastructure this year, which will allow for the creation of more than 150,000 direct and indirect jobs.
«Regarding job creation, the parameter used is that for every million pesos invested, one direct job and two indirect jobs are created; we’re talking about an investment of 53 billion pesos this year, which will generate around 150,000 jobs,» he stated.
At the morning press conference, «The People’s Morning Press Conference,» led by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, he explained that, throughout his six-year term, the Mexican government will allocate 372 billion pesos to road projects, many of which are already underway.
This investment strengthens the country’s connectivity and represents a key strategy for economic growth and job creation in all regions.
The Secretary detailed the distribution of resources and goals for this year:
3.197 billion pesos for 109 km of continuity works;
10.254 billion pesos in 2025 for 2,220 km distributed across 10 priority axes;
1.775 billion pesos for 21 bridges and interchanges;
2.730 billion pesos in 2025 for 904 km within the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río Program;
1.88 billion pesos for the Guerrero Highway Program, which includes the rehabilitation of 68 bridges;
3 billion pesos in 2025 for 2,107 small-scale roads;
30,476 million pesos in 2025 for the maintenance of 48,653 km of routine network and 9,472 km of periodic maintenance.
