Joint actions for the strengthening and management of Miramar Beach begin / @josefinarodzam @SECTUR_mx >>>

Within the framework of the coordination with the different actors of the sector, representatives of the Ministry of Tourism of Mexico (SECTUR), the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur), the Ministry of Tourism of Tamaulipas and the municipality of Madero held a first work table in Playa Miramar to start with the actions to strengthen and organize this tourist destination.

In response to a request from the Government of Tamaulipas, the goal is to turn Playa Miramar into a reference tourist destination in Mexico, by means of a master plan of reorganization, the improvement of infrastructure and tourist services, the promotion of the destination at a national and international level and the generation of a solid legal framework to attract investment and development to this place.

On behalf of the Mexican Ministry of Tourism, Rodrigo Cerda Cornejo, General Director of Planning, said that the agency and Fonatur reaffirm their commitment to strengthen the sector, and highlighted the value of the beaches as part of Mexico’s greatness.

He added that, in order to guarantee the fulfillment of the objectives, periodic work tables were set up with the participation of the three levels of government.

Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism of Tamaulipas, on behalf of Governor Américo Villareal Anaya, highlighted the importance of joining efforts to multiply the industry and make the state a national and international reference, as in this case.
