In Tlalnepantla, OPDM implements permanent campaign to collect used vegetable oil / @RacielPerezC_ @Gob_Tlalne >>>>

#Tlalnepantla, #EstadoDeMéxico. – The permanent used vegetable oil collection campaign is being carried out in Tlalnepantla, so the Municipal Government through the Decentralized Public Organization for the Provision of Drinking Water, Sewerage and Sanitation Services (OPDM) invites citizens to join this initiative that seeks to protect the environment.

In collaboration with the company Biofuels de México S.A. de C.V., in coordination with the Water Culture and Sustainable Water Projects area of the OPDM, the correct disposal of oil that is no longer used in households is encouraged.

The head of OPDM Alberto Valdés Rodríguez explained that one liter of oil can contaminate between 1,000 and 40,000 liters of water, which seriously affects the environment and water resources.

The official pointed out that instead of being disposed of down the drain, where it clogs pipes and contaminates rivers and aquifers, the oil collected will be used for the production of biodiesel, an alternative fuel that contributes to the reduction of polluting emissions.
