#SecretariatOfWellbeing#Mexico.– From the community of Los Higueros, in the municipality of Tantima, Veracruz, the Undersecretary of Productive Inclusion and Rural Development of the Ministry of Welfare, Columba Jazmín López Gutiérrez, launched Sembratón 2025, the National Reforestation Campaign of the Sembrando Vida program, a strategy that aims to plant 60 million native plants during the rainy season.

In front of planters from the Tantima region, she noted that more than 416,000 planters from the Sembrando Vida program are participating in Sembratón 2025, with the goal of recovering areas with degraded soil in rural and urban areas; expanding green spaces; and thereby contributing to mitigating the impact of climate change.

“Today we begin planting 60 million plants, and from 2026 to 2030, Sembrando Vida will plant 80 million plants year after year,” said Undersecretary Columba López, at the start of the National Reforestation Campaign amid a vibrant cultural display and festive atmosphere.

Columba Jazmín López emphasized the importance of the Sembrando Vida program’s contribution to the environment, oxygen, community empowerment, and strengthening the social fabric of the different areas of the country where 18,676 Peasant Learning Communities (CAC) are located. These cooperatives have created cooperatives to market the products they harvest or produce with the crops they plant, as well as to generate jobs.
