#FederalGovernment#Mexico.- The Government of Mexico, through the Presidential Commission for Electoral Reform, announced that consultations, forums, and roundtable discussions will begin in October. These discussions will be held in a broad and inclusive manner to gather the opinions of Mexicans and ultimately develop an Electoral Reform proposal.

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that the broadest possible participation is sought in the Electoral Reform consultations, forums, and roundtable discussions. Therefore, social and civil organizations, political parties, indigenous communities, education and research centers, legislators, advisors to the National Electoral Institute (INE) in their capacity as citizens, and the people of Mexico in general will be heard.

«It’s open to participation by all those who wish to put their ideas on the table. And, from there, a proposal will be made that addresses many issues: from political party financing, the party system itself; popular voting, whether it’s electronic or not, for example, whether we can move toward electronic voting, is one of the topics; party financing, the amount of resources used for campaigns and elections, the representation of the people in the Chamber of Deputies, the Senate, proportional representation. Everything is up for discussion,» he emphasized during the morning press conference, «The People’s Morning Conferences.»
