#FederalGovernment, #Mexico.- At the bilateral meeting held in Petén, Guatemala, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo de León reaffirmed concrete commitments in development cooperation, security, railway infrastructure, energy, and the environment.
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that the bilateral relationship between Mexico and Guatemala is an example of what can be achieved when there is political will, mutual respect, and love for the people. She asserted that cooperation between the two nations is not an option, but a fraternal duty.
“Our history has taught us that great transformations are not built in isolation, but rather through unity and cooperation. And today, Mexico and Guatemala demonstrate the will that two sister nations, with governments committed to justice and their people, can advance together toward a more dignified, more equitable, and freer future,” she stated in a message to the media at the Northern Air Command in Guatemala.
He explained that the commitments consist of:
Development Cooperation: Development Hubs for Well-being to encourage progress along the border and between both countries.
Security: That the borders of both countries be spaces of peace, where people are protected and crimes that threaten the well-being of both nations are combated.
Railway Infrastructure: Promote projects that connect economies and strengthen trade, tourism, and regional integration.
Energy: Clean and sustainable solutions that enable interconnection for growth and guarantee energy security, as well as efficient supply without compromising the future of future generations.
Environment: Coordinated actions in defense of shared natural resources: forests, jungles, rivers, and lakes.
