In the State of Mexico, Inspectors and Public Security of Toluca remove informal commerce in a coordinated operation / @rimoba @TolucaGob >>>

Toluca, #StateOfMexico.- Personnel from the General Directorate of Government intensified the operation to recover public spaces around the Juárez Market, IMSS Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital 221, the Historic Center, Paseo Colón, and Las Torres Highway, to ensure that sidewalks, curbs, and streets are used appropriately, prioritizing public mobility.

Fifty properly identified inspectors participated in the operation, removing stalls and merchandise, and seizing a vehicle used for street vending. These actions were coordinated with personnel from the General Directorate of Security and Protection, who are limited to intervening only in cases of public order disturbances.

The Director General of Government, Mario Medina, reported that the majority of merchants have shown willingness to withdraw voluntarily. He added that when confiscations are made, a corresponding report is issued so they can later go to the civic judge, pay the fine, and, once they have proof of payment, have their merchandise returned.

He also emphasized that the municipal administration, headed by Mayor Ricardo Moreno Bastida, will not tolerate any practices such as set-up or organizations that profit from public spaces, as these harm both tenants and passersby.

He also emphasized that the Director General of Government and the merchants themselves are analyzing relocation alternatives, as the city has various locations and options that allow for the exercise of this activity in an orderly and regulated manner.
