In Mexico City, Mauricio Tabe thanks work crews for surpassing the pothole-repairing goal in Miguel Hidalgo / @mauriciotabe @AlcaldiaMHmx

#AlcaldíaMiguelHidalgo#México.- Mauricio Tabe Echartea, Mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, publicly recognized his staff, volunteers, and crews who joined the Antibaches MH (Mexico City Pothole Repair) team to repair more than 2,000 potholes, surpassing the initial goal of 1,700 in less than three weeks.

Tabe thus recognized those who left their desks in various areas of the district to take to the streets of various neighborhoods and «put their weight behind» the ongoing pothole crisis. Through their efforts, they positioned Miguel Hidalgo as a «zero pothole» municipality and set an example for Mexico City.

“Today we gather to recognize the efforts of an entire team that leads by example, that has proven it can win the streets, win hearts, and convince with its actions. This team set out to fill more than 1,700 potholes in the Miguel Hidalgo borough, and we met the goal and surpassed that number—more than 2,000 potholes were filled by this army of volunteers,” he said.

Mauricio Tabe added that this success is the result of each and every one of the women and men who, in addition to their administrative roles and responsibilities, contributed their part to help overcome the pothole crisis that is affecting Mexico City and also affects Miguel Hidalgo.

“We all join forces to address a common problem, and that makes the difference within a team, between those committed to public service who don’t make excuses, who don’t say it’s not my problem, who don’t wash their hands, and a team that is supportive and understands the responsibility our neighbors demand of us, who say we’re going to tank everything and throw a lot of effort at the problems to end this crisis,” he stated.

From the esplanade of the Miguel Hidalgo City Hall, where he thanked the officials for this great feat, Tabe said he was very proud of his team of #Antibaches MH heroes, who didn’t make excuses and, on the contrary, went above and beyond, demonstrating that a problem could be overcome, and leaving a great lesson for public service.

«What we must strive for is unity among all to face this crisis, and that is what sets this team apart from many other work teams in Mexico City. That’s why we always say we have the best work team, the one that has led us to victory and the one that has made Miguel Hidalgo the best in Mexico City, with the best streets and the best parks,» he emphasized.
