#Tecámac, #EstadoDeMéxico.- The Tecámac City Council will hold a commemorative ceremony this Friday for the 200th anniversary of the municipality’s establishment, a date of profound historical significance. During the solemn ceremony, the Municipal Civil Merit Award will be presented in recognition of citizens who have contributed to the development of the region in various areas.
The event will take place on the municipal esplanade and will be led by the Municipal President, Rosi Wong Romero, along with members of the City Council. Special guests will be present, including Senator Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, who will accompany this significant celebration.
The awards will be presented in various categories, including the «Heberto Castillo Martínez» Scientific and Research Merit Award; the «Felipe Villanueva Gutiérrez» Award for Artistic, Literary, and Cultural Merit; and the «José Vasconcelos Calderón» Award for Pedagogical and Teaching Merit. Academic Excellence will also be recognized with the «Niños Héroes de Chapultepec» award.

Other categories include Community Service «Mexican Red Cross,» Municipal Public Service «Don Germán Estévez López,» Municipal Strengthening «General Lázaro Cárdenas del Río,» and Economic Development Promotion «Felipe Ángeles International Airport.» Additionally, Environmental Care will be recognized with the «Sierra Hermosa Ecological Reserve» award, and Gender Equality with the «Juana Inés de Asbaje» award.
The history of Tecámac dates back to September 12, 1825, when it was established as a municipality, with Juan Nepomuceno Obregón as its first mayor, just two years after the founding of the State of Mexico. The presentation of the Academic Excellence medal will continue on Saturday the 13th as part of the commemorative activities.
