#Tlalnepantla#StateOfMexico.- At noon, thousands of Tlalnepantla residents participated responsibly in the 2025 National Drill. Municipal government personnel participated with discipline, demonstrating that prevention is everyone’s responsibility. This exercise allowed for an assessment of earthquake response capacity. Active participation strengthened the municipality’s civil protection culture.

September 19th represents an emblematic date for the country, marked by the pain left by the earthquakes of 1985 and 2017. These events remain fresh in the collective memory and are a reminder of our vulnerability. Many Mexican families experienced irreparable losses. Therefore, today more than ever, preparation is a shared responsibility.

For years, authorities at all three levels of government have worked to develop efficient emergency protocols. In Tlalnepantla, these actions have been seriously reinforced. The correct application of these mechanisms can save lives. Being prepared makes all the difference in times of crisis.

Pamela Arreguín Vázquez, director of municipal Civil Protection, emphasized that under the instructions of Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz, internal training has been intensified. As a result, evacuation times were reduced during this exercise. The brigade members acted with precision and knowledge. Constant preparation has been key to this progress.

The simulation was based on an 8.1 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter in Michoacán, which would have a strong impact on the region. Arreguín Vázquez explained that in tall buildings, it is crucial to correctly apply the retreat technique. She also stated that training will be ongoing. Everyone must know how to act to protect their lives and the lives of others.
