#FederalGovernment#Mexico.- The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, hosted her French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, for a full state honours reception at the historic Palacio Nacional. The momentous visit of the French President «strengthens mutual respect, dialogue, and fraternity between our peoples», as stated by the Mexican President herself via her social media channels. The formal proceedings commenced in the Patio de Honor, a fitting backdrop for the solemn playing of both national anthems, marking the official welcome.

The official reception concluded with the customary official photograph of the two Heads of State, a moment preceding the high-level working meetings scheduled for the day. Accompanying President Sheinbaum Pardo for this pivotal diplomatic engagement were several senior members of her Cabinet. Prominent attendees included the Secretaries of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramón de la Fuente; Finance and Public Credit, Edgar Amador Zamora; Economy, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon; and Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation, Rosaura Ruiz Gutiérrez.

On the French side, the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, arrived with a substantial official delegation, underscoring the significance of the bilateral relationship. The President was accompanied by key figures such as the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, and the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati. The attendance of these high-ranking officials highlighted the depth of the agenda to be discussed, ranging from economic co-operation to scientific and cultural collaboration.

The large delegation from both governments witnessed the opening of discussions, which aim to foster a shared agenda and establish new co-operation mechanisms. Mexico’s representatives also included the Ambassador to France, Blanca Jiménez, and the Director General of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), Joel Omar Vázquez Herrera. This extensive representation from both nations affirms the shared commitment to expanding strategic ties in areas deemed crucial for bilateral development.
