In CDMX, Alcaldía Miguel Hidalgo Launches 50 Public Works Projects Through Participatory Budget 2025 / @mauriciotabe @AlcaldiaMHmx

#AlcaldíaMiguelHidalgo#MéxicoCity.- The Government of the Miguel Hidalgo borough has launched 50 fronts of public works, including paving, pavements, drainage, lighting, urban image, and public spaces, all selected through the Participatory Budget 2025. With this initiative, the administration aims to improve the quality of life in the neighbourhoods and ensure that public resources are managed transparently and efficiently.

Mayor Mauricio Tabe called on residents to remain vigilant alongside the borough authorities to ensure that “all those projects that are already contracted and chosen by the people of Miguel Hidalgo are carried out properly and completed successfully”. He emphasised the importance of citizen participation in supervising and executing the projects to prevent irregularities.

During the swearing-in of the Committees for Execution and Oversight of the Participatory Budget 2025, Tabe reminded that residents directly decided how to allocate this public resource, eliminating the clientelism that previously benefited only a few. He highlighted that “every peso of public funds must be properly allocated” and that the execution must be of high quality and long-lasting, safeguarding public trust.

The Director General of Works, Nina Hermosillo, stated that all projects have already been tendered and that the initial phase is ready. She explained that work will take place across 50 fronts, including housing units such as Marina Nacional, Tata Lázaro, Lomas de Sotelo, and Militar 1K, progressing gradually and keeping residents informed of all developments.

Javier Bernal, Executive Director of Citizen Participation, acknowledged the support of the IECM and the active involvement of residents, highlighting the role of the Committees for Execution and Oversight. He underlined that “their work will be key to transforming ideas into actions and actions into results”, ensuring a more just, participatory, and humane borough.

The event was attended by Councillor Altagracia Méndez Guerrero, the Directors Verónica Muñoz Durán and Enriqueta Islas, as well as Local Deputy Laura Álvarez and Efraín Morales Gómez, Coordinator for Promotion and Citizen Participation, who reinforced the borough’s commitment to transparency and the wellbeing of residents.
