Daniel Aceves Villagrán, head of the DGPSP, emphasized that this program utilizes football as a formidable catalyst for social inclusion and disciplined health habits. Through community tournaments spanning all age groups, the strategy promotes at least thirty minutes of daily exercise to combat obesity and cardiovascular risks. These efforts are bolstered by a profound focus on nutritional education, encouraging citizens to scrutinize the labeling of ultra-processed goods and sugary beverages.

To personify these institutional goals, the government introduced the National Health Ambassadors, Muuk’ and Toj Óol, inspired by the venerable Mayan linguistic heritage. Muuk’, representing strength and vigor through a robust muscle, encourages the population to improve their physical mobility and overall vitality.
