#NationalSecurity #MexicoStrength During the conference “#LasMañanerasDelPueblo,” led by President #ClaudiaSheinbaumPardo, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, #OmarGarcíaHarfuch, announced the results of the #NationalSecurityStrategy, highlighting the seizure of 28,031 firearms and more than 391 tons of drugs between October 2024 and April 2026. He emphasized that intentional homicides have dropped by 40 percent, marking a significant achievement in public safety. These figures reflect a coordinated effort between the #Army, the #Navy, and federal authorities to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace across the nation.
In this period, authorities dismantled 2,337 clandestine laboratories in 22 states, preventing the distribution of millions of doses of methamphetamine. As part of the zero-tolerance policy against corruption, operations in Nuevo León led to the arrest of José Antonio “N”, identified as a leader of a criminal cell linked to illicit fuel trafficking and money laundering, alongside three other individuals. Weapons, drugs, vehicles, and even exotic animals were seized during these actions.
The strategy also targeted extortion, resulting in the arrest of 1,310 offenders between July 2025 and April 2026. Recent updates reveal that Mexico has intensified its cooperation with international agencies to combat cross-border crime, while new technological surveillance systems are being deployed to strengthen intelligence operations nationwide.
These actions reaffirm the government’s commitment to security as a state policy, consolidating Mexico’s position in the regional fight against organized crime. The progress achieved demonstrates a decisive step toward safeguarding communities and ensuring a safer future for all citizens.
