Restructuring of Turissste to the Normative Directorate of Benefits

#InstitutoDeSeguridadYServiciosSocialesDeLosTrabajadoresDelEstado.- The Turissste Tourist Agencies System of the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (Issste) ceased to be a decentralized agency, and was restructured as tourist services attached to the Regulatory Directorate of Economic, Social and Cultural Benefits, according to the provisions of the Organic Statute of the agency published on February 1, 2019 in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF, for its acronym in Spanish).

Article 9 section XIV of the Institute’s Organic Statute states that the Regulatory Directorate of Economic, Social and Cultural Benefits has the function of administering, determining and granting the economic, social, tourism, cultural and sports benefits established by law, as well as designing, establishing, executing, monitoring and continuously improving, with the available resources, the public policies, programs and actions carried out for such purpose in the national territory.

The Institute is working on new mechanisms to generate savings, efficiencies and consolidate administrative simplification, said Yezmín Lehmann Mendoza, the regulatory director.

The public servant pointed out that, in order to make use of this benefit, members can carry out the corresponding procedures at the sub-delegation of benefits of the 35 state and regional representative offices of the Institute in the country, in addition to the four specialized in tourist services located in Mexico City.
