#Celaya, #Gto.- National U-20 teams from 12 countries, including the Mexican National Team, will play at the Miguel Alemán Valdés Stadium in Celaya and the Sergio León Chávez Stadium in Irapuato, in search of a place at the World Cup to be held in 2025 in Chile.
This was announced this Monday at the official presentation of the U-20 Pre-World Cup, headed by Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez, accompanied by the municipal president of Celaya, Javier Mendoza Márquez; the mayor of Irapuato, Lorena Alfaro, as well as directors of CONCACAF and the Mexican Soccer Federation.
In his speech, the municipal president, Javier Mendoza, thanked that the municipality has been taken into account to host this great international championship event, which endorses the drive that Celaya has in sports.
«In 20 days of competition, Celaya and Irapuato will be able to demonstrate that we are great cities and that Guanajuato is the greatness of Mexico. In recent years Celaya has received sporting events such as the Mister Universe, the Revelations Cup, the International Basketball Open.
Our city week after week receives regional, state, national or international events of different disciplines and has positioned us as the epicenter of sports in Guanajuato and Mexico, so I thank the organizers of this Premundial and CONCACAF for being named as the venue for this event,» said the mayor of Celaya.
Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo highlighted the organizational capacity of the municipality of Celaya to attract national and international sporting events and affirmed that this will be no exception, as visitors from other countries, states and cities will receive excellent treatment.
He added that in addition to the great attraction that will be offered to the soccer fans of Celaya, Irapuato and the entire state, there will be an important economic spill and tourist activity, due to the national and international visitors that both municipalities will receive.
