#SRE.- On March 22, the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (68th CSW), held at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, which began on March 11, concluded.

The CSW is the most important intergovernmental forum at the international level in which issues related to gender equality and the human rights of women, young women and girls are discussed and agreed upon.

The Mexican delegation was headed by the President of the National Women’s Institute (Inmujeres), Nadine Gasman Zylbermann, accompanied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), through the Permanent Representation of Mexico in New York, and made up of representatives of the executive and legislative branches, local governments and civil society organizations.

Within the framework of its Feminist Foreign Policy, Mexico participated in the general debate with a national intervention in which national actions to eliminate the situation of poverty faced by women, young women and girls in our country were presented from a comprehensive perspective, highlighting the strengthening of the minimum wage, as well as the actions implemented within the framework of the National Program for Equality between Women and Men (Proigualdad) aimed at the economic empowerment of women; the elimination of gender violence and peace building through the promotion of the Network of Women Peace Builders and the Ibero-American Network of Women Mediators; policies that recognize the intersectionality and diversity of women in guaranteeing their rights; the work for the adoption of a comprehensive care system; and the recognition of the potential of technologies to ensure women’s rights.
