State of México ranks second in forest fire detection: Conafor / @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- The State of Mexico ranks second in forest fire detection; according to the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) the entity has an average forest fire detection time of 09 minutes, when the national average is 39 minutes. Conafor’s efficiency indicators, from January 1 to April 4, 2024, show that in the state of Mexico the average time to reach a fire is 01:08 hours, and the national average is 02:30 hours.

Mexico City is in first place; the State of Mexico and Tlaxcala share second place; and Baja California Sur is in third place.
«The State of Mexico occupies one of the first three places nationally in response capacity, by arriving in less time to the areas where forest fires are affecting,» said Alejandro Sanchez Velez, General Director of the Forest Protector of the State of Mexico (Probosque).

In order to respond in a timely manner to each incident, the Government of the State of Mexico has: a State Fire Management Center, where real-time monitoring of hot spots is carried out; and which, through the State Fire Management Committee, has 28 observation and surveillance towers; 54 official brigades; 563 technical combatants and two Training Centers located in Texcoco and Donato Guerra.

The Mexican Army, the Secretariat of the Navy, the National Guard (GN), the National Water Commission (Conagua), Conafor and the municipalities are also collaborating in this deployment. The technical operational team is highly qualified and committed to its laudable mission, the so-called Dragons of Probosque, are characterized by their courage and conviction, therefore, the Government of Maestra Delfina Gómez Álvarez recognizes the work of technicians and experts who have supported in fighting more than 600 forest fires this year.
