#ISSSTE.- The Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste) is working to improve care for members of the teaching profession. For this reason, the Director General met with representatives of the National Coordinating Committee of Education Workers (CNTE) to follow up on requests regarding medical coverage, pensions and housing.

During the meeting held at the Institute’s headquarters in Mexico City, the Director General, accompanied by her work team, pointed out that the implementation of strategies to strengthen health care and the 21 benefits to which they are entitled continues.
In order to maintain attention to the supply of medicines at a national level, the Director of Administration and Finance asked the representatives of the CNTE to make use of the Megafarmacia del Bienestar (Welfare Mega-pharmacy).

The Issste medical director indicated that for the benefit of those who require surgical and specialty services, especially cataract, orthopedic and general surgeries, the process of acquiring equipment such as: magnetic resonators, tomographs, X-rays, among others, continues in general and regional hospitals in different entities of the country.
Regarding the 21 benefits provided to members, the Director of Economic, Social and Cultural Benefits informed that the cases of exposed pensions are being followed up in order to attend to teachers.
