Conservatory of Music of the State of Mexico prepares Jazz Festival 2024 / @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- In November 2011, during the UNESCO General Conference, the international community proclaimed April 30 as International Jazz Day, rhythms that have reinforced the fight against all forms of discrimination and racism.

In this context, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the State of Mexico joins the initiative of civil society organizations, educational institutions and private citizens involved in the promotion of jazz music.

On a permanent basis, the COMEM offers jazz concerts; and as every year, it will host the Jazz Festival, from May 13 to 15, with a musical proposal that will be announced on Facebook on the page @CulturaEdomex and @OficialCOMEM.

The Conservatory of Music of the State of Mexico (COMEM) is an educational institution that has among its offerings, the technical career in Jazz, with a duration of six semesters and in which instruments such as piano, saxophone, drums, electric guitar and electric bass are considered.

Among its teaching staff for this career, in the electric guitar instrument, is the musician, composer and arranger, Vladimir Alfonseca, who pointed out that the International Jazz Day is important because it is celebrating a conceptual movement.

Currently, in this specialty there are students from different states of the Republic such as Guerrero, Puebla, Nuevo León and Mexico City, as well as municipalities of El Oro, Metepec and Toluca.
