Government of the State of Mexico strengthens livestock surveillance structure / @delfinagomeza @Edomex >>>

#EstadoDeMéxico.- The Government of the State of Mexico, through the Secretaría del Campo, informed that 130 workers passed the federal exam to obtain certification as Authorized Identification Technicians (TIA), which will speed up the registration of livestock and livestock production units in the national and state information systems, as well as guarantee a better quality of meat products in the state and for export to other states and countries.

Certification as a TIA will allow veterinarians, zootechnical engineers, biologists and related professionals assigned to the Livestock Development and Health Directorates of the Secretaría del Campo to “aretar” and classify cattle, sheep and goats for registration in the National System of Individual Livestock Identification (SINIIGA).

For several years only eight employees of the Secretaría del Campo have had TIA certification, and from now on the strategy is to certify state public servants who meet the basic requirements, which will increase the registration of livestock and producers in the Sistema Único del Registro Agropecuario (SURA), which depends on the Government of the State of Mexico.

SURA and SINIIGA allow us to keep better track of the animals we eat from the time they are raised until they reach the slaughterhouses. In case of diseases, effective containment actions can be taken and consumers will have more certainty.

The certification will give producers the support of the Secretariat to provide better production parameters for fattening, breeding and milk production.
