Government of Chimalhuacán maintains cleanup day in the area affected by flooding / @GobChimal_ >>>

#Chimalhuacán, #Edoméx.- In continuity with the actions aimed at guaranteeing the safety and physical and patrimonial integrity of the population during the current rainy season, mainly in the points of greatest risk, the Government of Chimalhuacán carried out today its Saturday Cleaning Day in the Colonia «Arturo Montiel».

It removed more than 24 tons of garbage, rubble, tires and other waste from the streets affected last Monday by the overflowing of the Chimalhuacán II Drain and reinforced the drainage outlet to the same body of water at the «Canteros» Pumping Plant.

More than 100 workers from the Public Services, Public Safety and Municipal Transit, Youth and the Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sports swept, shoveled, collected and loaded the waste into five dump trucks on Central Avenue, between 5th and 17th Streets.

As on other occasions, the head of the Public Services Department, Pablo García Colores, thanked the neighbors who joined in this task, asked for patience from those who need to dispose of spoiled goods, asked them not to abandon them outside their homes and urged passersby not to throw any more waste on these streets.

He emphasized that the entire Municipal Government has had a contingency plan in place since the day of the events with personnel from his Department, as well as from Civil Protection and Firefighters, Urban Development, Public Works, Environment and Ecology, Health, DIF, ODAPAS, Public Safety and Municipal Transit, and practically all the administrative and operational areas of the local Government.
