#Ecatepec, #Edoméx.- With the participation of exponents of literary and narrative genres such as story, novel, legend, myth, tale and fable, among others, from Mexico, Panama, Argentina, Colombia and Cuba, the government of Ecatepec, through the Directorate of Education and Culture, held the second edition of the International Oral Narration Festival “Cuéntalee, the voices of orality and literature”.
The municipal president of Ecatepec, Fernando Vilchis Contreras, highlighted the importance of oral narration as he considered that thanks to the promotion of this activity is how traditions were transmitted and the culture and historical past of the native peoples is preserved throughout the municipal territory.
He reiterated that the promotion of cultural events, such as the oral narration festival, make the municipality a niche for the development of all artistic expressions.
Ecatepec became a forum for all voices and stories during the two-day event.
The mayor said that “the past of civilizations was gestated from the oral transmission of knowledge, culture and traditions among the first settlers around the world. I am proud that for the second consecutive year, our municipality has been selected as the place where a true international representation of masters in the art of storytelling will be expressed.
Vilchis Contreras thanked the participation and organization of storytellers Carlos Huerta and Armando Trejo from Mexico, Rubén Corbett from Panama, Marcela Sabio from Argentina, Carolina Rueda from Colombia and Pedro Mario López from Cuba, as well as the participants in the storytelling workshop that preceded the festival.
It is worth mentioning that Marcela Sabio from Argentina and Armando Trejo from Mexico were in charge of the oral narration workshop for those interested in delving into the world of literature and the transmission of stories.
