Mexico’s pension system, a priority for Issste and the Fourth Transformation: Bertha Alcalde / @BerthaAlcalde @ISSSTE_mx >>>

#ISSSTE.- The pension system in Mexico is one of the top priorities of the government of the Fourth Transformation, especially for consolidating benefits that allow a decent income for working people during old age, said Bertha Alcalde Luján, Director General of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (Issste).

During her participation in the Afores 2024 Fair, which is being held from July 18 to 21 in Mexico City’s Zócalo, the head of the institute recalled that the federal government created the Pension Fund for Welfare, which allows employees enrolled in the individual accounts system to retire with 100 percent of their base salary.

Previously, they were condemned to pensions of less than 30 percent of their last salary. In the case of workers in the service of the State, this reform establishes that the pension does not prescribe, considering that, previously, it had a term of ten years.

Bertha Alcalde also recalled the signing of the portability of rights agreement between Issste, IMSS and Pemex, to unify the contributions of those who worked in these institutions.

The Mexican Government has promoted actions to eradicate the harmful effects of the 1997 and 2007 reforms, so that workers have access to a decent income during their old age.
