#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that stretches 5 south, 6 and 7, from Quintana Roo to Campeche, will be inaugurated before September 15.
Section 7, from Chetumal Airport to Escárcega, Campeche, will open to the public by the end of August, while sections 5 south, from Playa del Carmen to Tulum, and 6, from Tulum to Chetumal Airport, will be ready in September, he said in a morning press conference.

In this way, the commitment to deliver before the end of the six-year term the entire circuit of 1,554 kilometers along with the stations for the enjoyment of locals, national and foreign tourists will be fulfilled.

“There is no other work like this in the world (…) Besides, it is the fastest and least costly fast train in the world”, he stressed.

In Quintana Roo, work is being carried out for the protection of cenotes and subway rivers in 80 kilometers of elevated viaduct, an unprecedented event in environmental matters in the area after decades of corruption by authorities and businessmen, said the president.

In addition, the federation is promoting social development projects, conservation and improvement of archeological zones, as well as the construction of the Mayan Train Hotels, which will open in September.

The Mayan Train provides punctual and daily service from Palenque, Chiapas, to Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. It will soon switch to automated, high-speed service up to 160 kilometers per hour.
