#IMSS.- IMSS-Bienestar consolidates the construction and operation of hospitals, the improvement of health centers through the La Clínica es Nuestra program, the arrival of medical specialists and the second part of the basification process, which begins on August 1st and concludes before the 15th of that month, said the Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo.
During the press conference headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Zoé Robledo informed that, in Nayarit, the first state to join IMSS-Bienestar, the Women’s Hospital of Tepic and the General Hospital of Tuxpan are already operating; the 120-bed General Hospital of Tepic is being built with an investment of two thousand 129 million pesos. In 2019 there were 273 specialist doctors; now there are 536, that is, the number increased 96 percent.
He pointed out that in Tlaxcala the General Hospital of Tlaxcala “Lic. Anselmo Cervantes” started operations. With the program La Clínica es Nuestra, 179 Health Committees received a card from the Banco de Bienestar and have spent 28.9 million pesos. In the 22 hospitals of Tlaxcala in 2019 there were 516 specialist doctors, today there are 828, an increase of 60 percent.
He stated that in Colima, the Zacualpan Health Center was completed. With La Clínica es Nuestra, 118 Health Committees have received cards and have spent 24.4 million pesos. In 2019, there were 328 specialist doctors in Colima’s 14 hospitals; currently there are 458, an increase of 40 percent.
He added that the state’s General Hospital and the Magdalena Community Hospital are already operating in Sonora, and the Vícam Switch Hospital is under construction. With La Clínica es Nuestra, 219 Health Committees have received 56.9 million pesos. In 2019, there were 775 specialist doctors in Sonora’s 30 hospitals; now there are 1,149, an increase of 48 percent.
He detailed that in Sinaloa, the General Hospitals of Mazatlán and Culiacán are currently in operation, and the Pediatric Hospital and the Extended Services Health Center (Cessa) of Culiacán are under construction. With La Clínica es Nuestra, 311 Health Committees have received 97.7 million pesos. In 2019 there were 779 specialist doctors; today there are 1,133, an increase of 46 percent.
