#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- San Miguel de Allende achieved international certification from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), by maintaining and strengthening the direction and vision given by the municipal president, Mauricio Trejo, to provide better security every day for the people of San Miguel de Allende.

With this accreditation, the Municipality meets international standards in strengthening crime prevention, the formalization of its operational and administrative processes, with fair, equitable, non-discriminatory practices and adherence to human rights.

In addition, to increase the participation of sanmiguelenses and security agencies, increasing confidence in their municipal authority and its elements.

Through its accreditation process endorsed from Salem, United States; the 5 phases of CALEA were met by the Secretariat of Citizen Security from voluntary registration, municipal self-assessment, specialized evaluation by CALEA, comprehensive review and final deliberation. Thus, San Miguel de Allende now has the highest quality municipal security corporation in all of Guanajuato.

“This fact results in a benefit for the population to know that the (municipal) police, that all the corporations of the Secretariat (of Citizen Security of San Miguel), will be qualified to be able to intervene in various processes. Definitely, the population (in San Miguel de Allende) can be totally safe, with the certainty that the elements, both operational and administrative, will carry out their activities according to a norm, to an extremely important and international quality standard,” said Andrei Garcia, Secretary of Citizen Security.
