#SE.- The Ministry of Economy reports that, as of the second quarter of 2024, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Mexico reached 31,096 million dollars (mdd), an amount 7 percent higher than the same period of 2023 (29,041 mdd), presenting a new historical maximum in the period since records have been kept.

For the second consecutive year, we highlight the unprecedented amount of reinvestment of profits made by companies in the country, due to the economic stability, the good business environment and the competitive advantages offered, an ideal situation to expand and improve their production processes, becoming the driving force for new investments.

On the other hand, the behavior observed in the second quarter of the intercompany accounts suggests an adequate degree of liquidity of the companies to cover the debts acquired in previous years and to make loans to companies belonging to their corporate group.

According to FDI registered as of the second quarter of 2024, the United States remains the main investment partner in Mexico, accounting for 44 percent of total flows. For this period, Germany and Japan occupy the second and third places respectively, both long-standing business partners in our country.
