Economy, Imjuve and UN Mexico launch national call for the “Red Juvenil por la Agenda 2030” / @SE_mx >>>

#Economy.- The Ministry of Economy, as the headquarters of the Executive Secretariat of the National Council of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SECNA), in collaboration with the Mexican Youth Institute (Imjuve) and the United Nations (UN) Mexico, launched the national call to join the “Youth Network for the 2030 Agenda, Second Generation”.

The Executive Secretary of the National Council, Irais Barreto, highlighted the achievements of the first generation of the Youth Network and emphasized that the purpose of this call is to select the best candidates in the country to continue advancing in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

“Youth have been fundamental allies, transforming discourses on sustainability into concrete and tangible actions, strengthening the connection with communities and generating a real impact,” he said.

For her part, Alejandra Atzín Ramírez Hernández, in charge of the Sector and Regional Coordination Office of Imjuve, pointed out the importance of youth participation for the consolidation of a more sustainable country.

“In this Government we have joined efforts so that young people are at the center of the transformation, we are excited to build, with the participation of all, a country where we take care of our planet and its resources,” she said.

The head of the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Mexico, Jessica Braver, highlighted that young people represent 30% of the country’s population, that is, more than 40 million people, and underscored the recognition of the United Nations System of the crucial importance of youth as key agents of change.
