#ISSSTE.- Since there is no specific antiviral treatment against dengue fever, the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (Issste) recommends the population to increase prevention measures against this disease, especially during the rainy season, a period in which the transmitting mosquito increases.

In the framework of the International Day against Dengue, which is commemorated on August 26, the sub-director of Prevention and Health Protection of the institute, Vanessa Vizcarra Munguía, informed that training has been reinforced for health personnel regarding this disease.

She pointed out that Issste joins the Second National Dengue Fighting Day 2024, led by the Ministry of Health, in order to expand the dissemination of preventive actions in medical units and administrative spaces, since, according to the epidemiological panorama of this disease, 33,957 cases have been registered so far in 2024, and at the end of 2023 there were 29,810 https://goo.su/gaEJ5.

“In the framework of this day, we will extend training concerning the protocol of care and notification of cases. In addition, actions will be promoted with the support of the community health teams ECOS for Wellbeing, which raise awareness of the situation among the population.”

Luis Gerardo García Demurer, an internist and infectious disease specialist at the “Dr. Fernando Quiroz Gutiérrez” General Hospital in Mexico City, stressed that it is extremely important to diagnose the patient in time in order to provide the correct treatment.
