#SECTUR.- Also accompanied by the state’s Secretary of Tourism and President of the Union of Tourism Secretaries (Asetur), Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) held a meeting with the tourism sector’s business leaders, with whom he discussed the importance of tourism in Nayarit, which is why it has become an important destination for attracting investment.

He highlighted some of the important tourist attractions of the state, such as the archeological zone of Ixtlán del Río; the beaches of Bahía de Banderas, Nuevo Vallarta, Punta Mita or Sayulita; and its 9 Magical Towns, which make this state, founded in 1917, one of the favorite places to visit for national and foreign tourists.

He pointed out that, nationally, Nuevo Nayarit stands out among the main destinations with hotel occupancy. According to DataTur, in the first semester of the year, it reached 80.8%, a figure that stands out due to the increase in hotel rooms.

With the purpose of strengthening tourism activity, Torruco Marqués informed that a few weeks ago the agency he is in charge of delivered 10 new units of Angeles Verdes, and in the framework of this event it was agreed that the state government will provide another 10 for a total of 20 vehicles, These units are equipped with air conditioning and the necessary equipment to provide mechanical assistance and tourist advice. They are also connected to the “Alfonso García González” Geointelligence Center, which provides more timely and efficient attention to national and international tourists traveling on the country’s highways.
